nasa & jpl campaign work

Mars 2020
When I began work at JPL in the fall of 2019, the Mars landing event helped galvanize my new team and provided a backdrop for a new way of cross- discipline collaboration. Looking across our organization I was able to identify siloed assets and bring the teams together to build a common visual language and supporting toolkit that created a cohesive look/feel.

JPL is a place for…
Being federally funded, JPL does not have the same opportunities outside industry does to purchase media placement, but our new website provided a platform for an inclusive recruiting effort – from scientists to disruptors, JPL is a place for you.

Europa Clipper
Envisioning a future campaign for Europa clipper as an ongoing effort to help missions find value in investing in “hero” imagery that helps build a visual language and tell their missions larger story to the public.

Artemis Posters
DesignLab was commissioned to create a tryptic to commemorate the launch, journey and arrival (at the moon) for the Artemis missions. DesignLab collaborated with noted hollywood poster artist
Akiko Stehrenberger on a water color series that allows viewers to “see more” in the work – Artemis’ bow & arrow, journey and destination in Orion’s form, and a female silhouette in the moon’s craters.

NASA Telescope Posters
The space telescope poster series is an artistic celebration of discoveries uncovered from the depths of the universe by NASA’s space telescopes. Each poster highlights the beauty and capabilities of a space telescope, illustrating the unique characteristics and research of the mission

Galaxy of Horror Posters

Presented in the style of vintage horror movie advertisements, the Horrors of the Galaxy poster series features real phenomena. Take a tour of some of the most terrifying and mind-blowing destinations in our galaxy … and beyond. After a visit to these nightmare worlds, you may never want to leave Earth again!

Many artists, designers, and illustrators were involved in creating these series of posters, which are the result of many collaborative sessions with JPL scientists,
engineers, and expert communicators.

Club Mickey Mouse
My team at Disney Digital Network helped relaunched the timeless classic with a new twist in both content and format. The new Club Mickey Mouse was rebooted in partnership with Facebook and HP as an Always-On, Feed First, experimental series. Hero assets appears in the shows fans streams where sponsored flagship pieces appear alongside BTS and talent created footage.

For the launch of the series we build an extensive out of home campaign that reminded our viewers that IT’S ON, while key art we shot pictured talent breaking out of  the advertisings “frame” eluding to a new type of feed-based series.

Additionally we created a motion controlled single-take video sponsored by HP for the launch which featured a mural created by tiling prints from HP’s portable sprocket printer.

compass

Compass – Los Angeles launch program
Part real estate company, part tech startup, Compass has set itself apart in the industry by creating a design driven system that gives its agents the tools they need to respond quickly in the market place. Work included design and art direction on print collateral, branding for agents, signage, managing lifestyle and agent photoshoots. All work done in-house in coordination with the design team, sometimes including the design team (even my young family makes a cameo)
