In-Situ Instruments Laboratory is a facility that allows for electro-mechanical development and testing of robotic as a workshop and simulated Martian terrain components and instruments. DesignLab concepted and designed a display that helped tell the story of the missions that were tested in the space and to serve as an aid for self-guided tours.
NASA IAC 2022 Exhibit For the 2022 International Astronautical Congress, we worked to create a streamlined experience that told NASA’s story from earth to mars to the moon and beyond. Part of the goal was to make an “only at NASA” experience and we delivered in the form of a James Webb Space Telescope “chapel” that provided a tranquil environment for guests to be engulfed in the recent JWST images.
Earth Information Center Visualizations for the future Earth Information Center gallery space, a dedicated to resource to sharing the work NASA does on our home planet.
weekends
Prior to JPL and Disney I ran my own creative studio founded in Paris, France called Weekends. We specialized in creative consulting, branding and architectural design.
Malro is a contemporary french/italian brassery. It’s a cafe, bar, restaurant and a gathering place for the neighborhood. Due to the 24/7 nature of the space, we worked with the team to create spaces that could function year round and day/night. Arched mirrors, wood details, and washed walls give the long space depth and texture We inset a large in and outdoor terrace, a vestier, modular seating, along with large fixed plush booths and a private living room to create an open, inviting space that feels cozy amongst 2 or 122 companions.
Ototo
Despite that Ototo’s name comes from it being concieved as a “little brother” (in japanese) to next door Tsubaki (also run by the talented Chef Charles Namba & Courtney Kaplan), besides the square footage, there isn’t much “little” to the space or concept. Weekends was brought in to help shape what a contemporary sake bar (with great food) could be. We worked closely with Courtney and Charles to create a space and brand that reflected their dedication to craft, detail and enthusiasm for sharing their love of food and sake with the Los Angeles.
For this project Weekends transformed a former hair salon into a sake bar complete with custom designed furniture, shou-sugi-ban inspired wood elements, a private tasting/dining room, and a white oak bar.
